Growth Plans
We believe there is a ripe opportunity to expand KIPP Colorado’s network of schools and be part of the solution to offer better educational options to underserved, low-income students in the Denver Metro area. This is a critical time for education reform in and around Denver. Our educational and economic future demands reform, and KIPP’s track record demonstrates what is possible in public education.
The strong need and demand for more KIPP Colorado schools in various parts of Denver drives our overall growth plan. Today, KIPP Colorado continues to focus on launching Colorado’s first 90-90-90 high school (90% or more minority, 90% or more low income, with 90% or more college enrollment), and maintaining KSPA as one of the city’s best middle schools. An additional middle school will open in 2011 and, over the coming years, KIPP Colorado will grow to include a network of three middle schools, three elementary schools, and two high schools across the most high-needs portions of the Denver Metro area. While KIPP Colorado’s two current schools are located on the southwest side of Denver, we are carefully assessing other neighborhoods as potential sites for our expansion.
