Public funding does not cover all costs of running KIPP Colorado Schools, leaving a significant shortfall that must be covered by private philanthropy. KIPP Colorado Schools relies upon the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations to close our annual funding gap, so we can continue to provide the excellent education that will carry our students up the mountain to and through college. On average, $1600 per student must be raised in order to ensure that KIPPsters will receive art, music, daily PE, and end-of-year field lessons - vital programs that these students would not have access to in their neighborhood public schools.

Financial contributions to qualified programs at KIPP Colorado Schools qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit, which may enable donors to receive a 50% Colorado state tax credit. This is in addition to the applicable state and federal charitable deductions currently allowed. Participation in the program offers donors the opportunity to take an active role in providing quality educational and character building programs for children (age 12 and under) in Colorado. Donations made to support Saturday and summer programming as well as the extended school day at KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy qualify for the tax credit.
